(Jamma) In yesterday's session in the Chamber, during the discussion of the bill containing urgent provisions for the pursuit of rationalization objectives in public administrations, the honorable Member of the M5S Marco Da Villa speaking on the amendment on paragraph 7-ter which speaks of loss-making years of investee companies, addressed the issue of the privatization of the Venice Casino. In this regard, the honorable pentastellato declared: “Mr. President, this amendment intervenes on paragraph 7-ter which speaks of loss-making financial years of investee companies. In this regard, I would like to give the example of the casino in Venice, a company 100% owned by the municipality of Venice, and explain how investee companies are sometimes used by the municipalities. Casino di Venezia has accumulated losses from year to year, consider this paradox: it could mean that the casino has paid out more winnings than its revenues. The truth however is that the municipality of Venice in recent years has withdrawn annually 108 million against a profit of 88 million in 2008, 101 million against a 70 million profit in 2009 and so on; all therefore regardless of the profits produced by the casino itself. Today, due to the losses of the gambling house, the municipality of Venice wants to privatize the casino, but given that the losses are from the municipality and the casino, perhaps it is the case that the Orsoni junta resigns".
