Senate. Bill withdrawn on proposal of a casino in Merano

(Jamma) Senators Svp Karl Zeller and Hans Berger declared yesterday in the Senate their intention to withdraw the bill containing "Rules for the establishment and regulation of gambling houses on the national territory". The text had been proposed to get the go free at the opening of a casino in Merano. The two senators hoped they could regulate casino laws by legislating for a regional distribution of casinos. In fact, the text proposed entrusting the regions and autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano with the issue of authorizations for the operation of gambling houses, the ownership of which "must necessarily belong to the municipal administration, which will be able to manage it directly or through municipal companies , or through mixed capital companies or even companies made up only of private capital, in which, however, private individuals must obligatorily obtain the authorization of the competent regional or provincial authorities, in order to prevent the entry of subjects 'at risk' into the administrative bodies ”.
