Albania. Green light to online betting

(Jamma) Albanian citizens who are passionate about games and bets will now also be able to play via computer: the recent changes made to the law that regulates the sector allow the creation of electronic casinos; the Ministry of Finance will be responsible for supervising the new market, increasing the guarantees for the protection of citizens. Profits from the gaming and betting industry are declining; however, revenues are growing, thanks to the decline in tax evasion. The new law provides for tax revenues from online gaming both centrally and locally; the opposition has instead accused the government of not doing much to control online betting, denying the decrease in the rate of tax evasion in the sector.
