Everything is ready for the last day of April before the seasonal break, horses on the track from 15pm
At the ISnai La Maura racecourse un Thursday April 25 of great trot with the 19th day of the season what an art from 15 and what you see in the program, consisting of eight trials, the 2024 edition of Ettore and Mario Barbetta Grand Prix, classic Group III handicap starting with the ribbons on the distance of 2700-2740 meters reserved for foreign horses aged 4 years and over, and indigenous horses aged 5 years and over. The other tests, however, report the names of the horses that distinguished themselves under the guidance of Ettore and Mario in the various years, from 1927 to 2004, in which they triumphed in the most prestigious and unforgettable races.
La 19th day of the season is also thelast before the break of May and June with a goodbye to the recovery scheduled for Thursday July 11. Entrance ticket is 3 euros – only for adults, while access is free for minors and certified disabled people with a companion. But let's go to what will happen on the track in order of release, a day that sees the support of Gavioli Artisan Saddlery of Novara which, for each race, offers its products (blankets, leather halters and more) to the winners of the respective races. For the Grand Prix Barbetta, however, is present Ettore Barbetta junior, grandson of grandfather Ettore and uncle Mario, and equestrian journalist, who honors the driver and trainer of the winning horse of the 2024 edition with a trophy.
PROGRAM – START AT 15PM
FIRST RACE – HOMER PRIZE (1927)
Opening in the afternoon with a conditional test for 3-year-old European horses who have not won Euro 3.000,00 in their career competing over a distance of 1650 metres. Fatou di Poggio made a mistake in Trieste but the mistake does not reduce the respect for him which, combined with his CV with victories and placings, makes him the horse to beat. Fxcasei Joyeuse, with the second place obtained in the last significant media event, seems to have found the right balance and presents itself as an alternative. Farfuglia Gnafà is to be expected in progress, while attention must be paid to the couple from Bareggio with Fabulous Fi valid second to the last and Furioso Bar.
SECOND RACE – SELLERIA GAVIOLI PRIZE
The race named after Selleria Gavioli follows with a Handicap race over 2700 meters for older horses in which only Danielino, third in Bologna showing top condition, will attempt to escape. We find Jussy de Paumar again, excellent on the occasion of the various French outings and perfectly at ease both in the turn and on the distance measured by three elderly people in top condition. Downtown As, after a series of excellent performances, hit the bull's eye on the Turin track, while Demetrio, his training partner, is back from a success in handicap on the short course where he was liked without reservations. Cesare Amg, perhaps less accustomed to the scheme, boasts a suite of victories against high-level opponents. So it's going to be a great race to watch.
THIRD RACE – BALL PRIZE (1928)
On the track there is conditioning for only 3-year-old European females on 1650 meters in which Fergie has the best number and presents herself with a victory and a second place, i.e. conditions that make her the first choice compared to her training partner, Former As, relegated to the second row. Flika Pal Ferm won and convinced as a couple with her owner and will certainly be in the running for an encore. Fiammetta Grif has the engine and is partial and like Fantastica Caf, returning from second place, and the guest Follia Np who play the role of classic surprise.
FOURTH RACE – ZAMBESI BI PRIZE (2000)
The first part of the program ends with the Handicap over the distance of 1650 meters with the older horses entrusted to the Gentlemen. At the start the very fast Zaffiro Gzo will try to put her on the pace to escape the pursuers Zar dei Baba and Catwalk Pink penalized by one ribbon and above all by a trio at the start at the very dangerous third ribbon. Among these, the first nomination goes to Dalila Bar, fresh from a victory in a similar pattern in Turin over 2000 meters with an average of 1.11.9, i.e. with a performance that speaks for itself and which places her at the top of the forecast. Greppi's Cannes is at ease in these races and is aiming firmly for the podium, while the other Greppi brand, Cluny, covers the possible outsiders with Diva Ferm.
FIFTH RACE – BRAVUR SUND AWARD (1991)
The second part of the meeting in La Maura opens with the conditioning reserved for 3-year-old European horses who have not won Euro 35.000,00 in their career over 2250 metres. We see Far West Bi again, a subject of undoubted means and considered since its first releases as one of the possible protagonists of the generation. Despite the doubts about the condition, it remains among the most anticipated. Flash NP won the recent Italian Grand Prix in Bologna and, despite the number on the second row, will be the protagonist. Fakir Roc and Follow Me d'Arc have an enviable consistency of performance which, combined with the potential shown so far and the start-up numbers, will be at the forefront of success. Follia d'Esi, Favola Ek and Francesco Grif are much more than a simple alternative.
SIXTH RACE – INFANT DU BOSSIS AWARD (2004)
Conditional for 4-year-old horses which sees Enzo Jet aiming for an immediate redemption after making a mistake during the return race. Similar premises for Equipe della Casa, however valid in the pursuit after the initial error, and able to resolve the match thanks to a notable partial. Enea Sl obtained a comforting second place at the end which shows that he is growing and, finding continuity, he can fit in. Eagle Prav and Espresso Italia cannot be underestimated having shown on several occasions to be competitive at high levels. Esedomani and Eifell Fi the classic surprises.
SEVENTH RACE – ETTORE AND MARIO BARBETTA GRAND PRIX (GROUP III)
And here is the top of the Milanese trotting day with the new edition of the Ettore and Mario Barbetta Grand Prix, a classic handicap on 2700 meters in which only Desiderio d'Esi accepted the assessment as penalized and will be called to recover 20 meters to a handful of experienced seniors in top shape. Following the order of the appraisal, the first point of reference should be Boccadamo who scored at the beginning of the year in the Gp Della Vittoria coincidentally with a handicap of around 2500m and subsequently in the Gp Ponte Vecchio another Group III race: Dilva Jet second to Vittoria cannot be neglected like Cardoso Dr author in the aforementioned super performance release. Caronte Trebi and Coeur Joyeuse enjoy inviting locations from which they could stage a high-paced route. The indomitable Vaprio and Ziguli from Greppi are still ready to attack and deserve attention like Jimmy Ferro, chosen by Alessandro Gocciadoro and liked during his last outing.
EIGHTH RACE – MONI MAKER AWARD (1998)
The conditional test for 25-year-old European females closes on April 4th at the Snai La Maura racecourse in Milan. Eletra Alky from No alla penultimate won on average over 2000 meters and, repeating herself at those levels, appears to be the point of reference for the race. England As resolved the issue at the last minute, effectively running just over 300 metres, leaving their rivals in place. Difficult to evaluate Beauty Evo on its first outing in Italy after an initial part of its Swedish career, but the charm of Alessandro Gocciadoro's driving induces the utmost respect. Electra Winner and Eleonora Wind would have the means to succeed but frequent errors limit their performance.
The month of April so it ends with the GP but resumes Thursday July 11 with many surprises!
