The officials of the Monopolies Office for Umbria deliver the receipt of the complaint to a winner of the receipt lottery

The Receipt Lottery confirms itself as an excellent opportunity for consumers and merchants in Umbria who in 2023 came close to the figure of 1,5 million euros in winnings (1.450.000 to be precise). In the past year, Lady Luck kissed 80 customers and 39 owners of public establishments in the green heart of Italy on 41 occasions, recording 3 winnings of 100 thousand euros, all claimed in the province of Terni, by winners aged between 44 and 72 years. The youngest of these collected the considerable prize after paying with the electronic card for a food expense of just 27,40 euros. Even if the record for the least expense belongs to a young man from Perugia who paid 2 euros for a sandwich and won 25 thousand. 36 so-called minor draws, i.e. weekly prizes (15 weekly draws), which allowed Umbrian consumers to receive the weekly prize of 25 thousand euros.

There are many stories, sometimes unusual, that accompany the lucky consumers. Like a gentleman from the province of Terni who, when presenting the documentation for the complaint, declared to the ADM officials of Perugia that he wanted to open a commercial business, "the dream of a lifetime". In another case, a man from Perugia said that the 25 euro prize would allow him to no longer go to a credit institution to get a personal loan for his son to continue his studies.

To the 1.200.000 euros won by consumers, add a further 250 that luck gave to 41 retailers, most of which were food shops, discount stores and large-scale retail outlets, for a total of 1.450.000 euros. Growing numbers if compared with 2022 when in Umbria there were 66 winnings (30 by consumers, 36 by merchants) for a total of 1.212.000 euros.

2024 also opened under the sign of Goddess Luck with 22 complaints ascertained by the ADM staff of Perugia in the first quarter of this 2024. If last year it was the province of Terni that recorded the highest winnings, of the 10 regularized so far , 9 of these, all worth 25 thousand euros in prize, concerned consumers in the province of Perugia - only in one case a 70-year-old from Valnerina won the weekly prize - and in particular 6 from the capital city of Perugia, in the Tifernate area, near Gubbio and tuderte. Once again, it is mainly men who are blessed by luck (7). In one case the prize was claimed for a purchase of cosmetic products made in a pharmacy (28,95 euros), while the smallest tax receipt which gave the prize amounted to 8,69 euros for food purchased in a grocery store. On the other hand, 12 are the owners of the businesses who have received, with amounts varying between 20 thousand and 5 thousand euros, an amount of 75 thousand euros.

Once all the checks have been carried out, it is up to the Central Games Directorate of the Customs and Monopolies Agency, competent for the matter, to authorize the payment orders for the transfer of the winnings.
