Federgioco: the Code of Self-Discipline for Promotional Communications approved by the Italian casinos

(Jamma) Federgioco, the representative body of the four casinos – Campione d'Italia, Saint-Vincent, Sanremo, Venice – has approved the Communication Self-Regulatory Code which can be consulted online from today on the Association's institutional website.

Il Code of Self-Regulatory Communication it is a protocol that aims to standardize the behavior of Italian casinos in terms of construction and broadcasting of advertising messages. It is a shared policy document that binds Federgioco Members to comply with regulatory provisions on communication with the aim of protecting the consumer. The federation of Italian casinos has thus equipped itself with an interpretative tool of the national legislation on the subject of advertising messages on gambling. The Code is a working document that aims to guide the management companies of national casinos towards a communication strategy oriented not only to mere compliance with legislative constraints but also to virtuous behavior that goes beyond strict compliance with the provisions of the law. The Protocol outlines "rules of conduct" for casinos, attributable to the loyalty of promotional communication in its various components of correct use of terminology and clarity and completeness of the message. The Code also contains elements of interpretative guidance aimed at translating the provisions of the general rule into executive operations and contains, for example, commonly used formulas for warnings to consumers that the law requires.
