As part of the widespread territorial control services arranged against illegal gaming, also and above all for the protection of minors, the Police Commissioner Giannina Roatta has suspended the licence, ordering the immediate closure of a public establishment for a period of 10 days - slot hall – located in the city center of Mantua.

The State Police, which has always been attentive to social phenomena, is particularly committed to preventing and combating illegal gambling, especially to protect very young people. During repeated checks, State Police personnel had found the presence of several individuals with criminal and police records, therefore considered dangerous to public order and safety.

During the last two checks, including on Friday evening, minors were found playing at the betting station. In both cases, the operators also proceeded to sanction the owner.

Given the seriousness of the facts, in particular the involvement of minors, fragile subjects and those most at risk of gambling addiction, the Police Commissioner adopted the measure, notified this morning by staff of the Administrative Team of the Police Headquarters, of suspension of the license and temporary closure of the games room, a precautionary measure necessary to counteract a situation that is objectively dangerous for public safety and foreseeably susceptible to further aggravation if tolerated and which responds to the rationale of producing a dissuasive effect on the continuation of a socially dangerous situation with negative repercussions on order and on public safety.
