In line with its status as an annual industry opportunity to celebrate excellence in all its forms, EAG 2024 (16-18 January ExCeL London) has been selected to host the Bacta Awards.

The UK trade association's initiative is made up of five categories including High Street Hero, Seaside Saviour, Supply Chain Champion, Green Giant and The Jimmy Thomas Rising Star Award, launched in honor and memory of the late Jimmy Thomas, a doyen of industry. With the exception of the Green Giant which recognizes the efforts made by organizations to protect the environment, the awards recognize those individuals who have distinguished themselves in a specific category. The awards will be judged by an independent jury which will include the president of the EAG Martin Burlin who held various roles at bacta, including a stint as national president.

Previewing the awards Martin Burlin said: “EAG and before that ATEI have provided a platform of excellence not only in terms of the innovative product presented each year at the show, but also as an opportunity to recognize those individuals who have gone beyond the call of duty in terms of contribution to specific sectors and society in general.

It is right to create awards dedicated to all sectors that are comprehensively represented by our exhibitors and the free seminar program that are part of the EAG experience. As well as having a history dating back to 1936, EAG is also about the future and I am pleased that we will be able to honor future industry leaders courtesy of the Jimmy Thomas Rising Star Award and the Green Giant for companies that have introduced environmentally friendly practices of the environment.

EAG is an opportunity for all industries, it allows you to come together, network, socialise, see the 'best of the best' in terms of both product and people and start the working year in the best way possible".

EAG is on track to eclipse the success of the 2023 edition which saw a 36% year-on-year increase in attendance and an exhibition space made up of 72 exhibitors occupying 80 stands across 3.726 square meters of net space.
