National referee Antonio Casa accepts sanction for violations of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) confirms that Italian tennis official Antonio Casa has been suspended from the sport for a period of seven years and six months following violations of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP).

Casa, a national-level official, admitted committing seven breaches of the TACP, including attempting to commit a bribery offence, manipulating match scores for betting purposes and facilitating betting.

Casa, who has refereed ITF $15 and $25 events and served as a line judge at the ATP Challenger level, cooperated fully with the ITIA investigation and waived his right to a hearing before a independent anti-corruption officer. Casa was also fined $25.001, of which $17.001 was suspended. The official's agreed sanction began on March 28, 2024 and will end at midnight on September 27, 2031.

During the suspension, Casa is prohibited from officiating or participating in any tennis events sanctioned or sanctioned by members of the ITIA (ATP, ITF, WTA, Tennis Australia, Fédération Française de Tennis, Wimbledon and USTA).

The ITIA is an independent body established by its members to promote, encourage, improve and safeguard the integrity of professional tennis throughout the world.
