The Shareholders' Meeting of Casino di Sanremo SpA, which met this morning, 22 April 2024, approved the financial statements for the 2023 financial year, which closed with a net profit of €11,5 million. The Municipality of Sanremo, sole shareholder, represented by the Mayor Alberto Biancheri, accepting the proposal of the Board of Directors, has resolved to increase the share capital from €5 million to €12 million through the use of available reserves.
“It is an important result, the result of a growth path and strategic choices made in recent years by the municipal administration and by the boards of directors that have followed one another over time. I thank the president, the Board of Directors, the management and all the workers of the Gaming House, whose commitment has made it possible to improve economic performance and obtain a position of this type, the highest in the last 12 years, with a development potential that allows us to look to the future with satisfaction", stated the mayor of Sanremo, Alberto Biancheri.
“During the 2023 financial year, the Casino recorded brilliant performances in terms of gross gaming revenue (revenue from physical games reached 52,7 million euros). Production has therefore not only largely exceeded pre-pandemic levels, but also achieved the highest result in the last twelve years – added the CEO, Dr. Gian Carlo Ghinamo -. These performances, together with the effects of the measures adopted in terms of rationalizing the use of resources and containing management costs, have allowed the Company to achieve excellent economic and financial results. The Board of Directors has proposed an allocation of the profit for the year aimed at strengthening the capital structure of the Company and allowing the latter to adopt, in the future, the initiatives deemed most appropriate in order to consolidate its position on the markets in which it acts. I thank Mayor Alberto Biancheri for having accepted this proposal. I share the merits of these results with the current Directors, Avv. Lucia Artusi and Dr. Eugenio Nocita, and with those who were part of the Board of Directors during the first months of 2023, Avv. Adriano Battistotti and Dr. Barbara Biale.
