The Global Esports Federation (GEF) and the International Esports Federation (IESF) have announced a collaboration dedicated to driving progress and providing new opportunities in the global esports ecosystem.

With both organizations already committed to building the industry, nurturing competition and talent, improving infrastructure and elevating the world of eSports, the coming years will see GEF and IESF undertake joint initiatives across all territories.

The agreement was finalized at the Riyadh 23 Global Esports Games (#GEG2023), the GEF's flagship multi-title competition, hosted by the Saudi Esports Federation (SEF).

His Royal Highness The Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud, President of the IESF, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chris Chan, President of the GEF, during an official ceremony at the 4th General Assembly of the GEF. His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOC), and His Royal Highness Prince Fahad bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz, Vice President of the SOC, were among the participants.

Prince Faisal said: “At a time when the possibilities and potential of eSports are limitless, the lasting progress, sustainability and prosperity we envision is based on vibrant partnerships that positively influence the trajectory of our industry, now and into the future. Today is not only a welcome reminder of this reality; It's the beginning of an exciting new phase in the realm of eSports cooperation, where collectivism instigates a new wave of evolution. For the International Esports Federation, playing a vital role alongside the Global Esports Federation is an exciting prospect and we look ahead with great anticipation and ambition".

Chris Chan added: “Our collaboration agreement illustrates our shared intent to contribute to the #worldconnected eSports community and celebrate youth. In recent years, eSports has emerged as a positive force in various cultures and societies. Our goal is to open an innovative path towards more transformative experiences, with new foundations for growth and development".

Going forward, the two parties will pool their expertise and resources in a number of key areas, enhancing inter-federation ties and knowledge exchange, while supporting key initiatives together with various national eSports federations.
