Zanetti (SCPI): 'Saccomanni, how much is the current turnover in the gaming sector and in particular of slot machines?'

(Jamma) In yesterday's session in the Chamber, Enrico Zanetti, Giulio Cesare Sottanelli and Mario Sberna of Civic Choice for Italy presented a question to the Minister of Economy and Finance to find out, given the surge in the legal game in Italy, "How much is the current turnover of the gaming sector in general and slot machines in particular, as well as what is the total amount of indirect taxes that the Treasury collects on this turnover in general, and on that of slot machines, in particular”.

Given that:
in recent years the phenomenon of legal gaming in Italy has experienced a strong expansion, involving an increasing number of men and women, despite the growing economic difficulties of Italian families;

the trend has surged since 2003, the year in which the legalized gaming sector began to record ever-increasing amounts of collection;
hand in hand, the offer of legal games has diversified which, alongside the traditional tote games and others lotto and Superenalotto, has seen the flourishing of entertainment and amusement machines with cash prizes (slot machines), which today alone account for almost half of the public gaming sector –:
what is the current turnover of the gaming sector in general and of slot machines in particular, as well as what is the total amount of indirect taxes that the Treasury collects on this turnover in general, and on that of slot machines, in particular.
