(Jamma) Parliament voted in favor of the proposal to change the gaming parameters of slot machines by intervening on maximum bets and winnings, despite opposition from the Labor Party.
The changes outlined by what is being billed as the three-year review plan sees the jackpot for Category C machines being raised from £70 to £100, but does not include any changes to interconnected terminals.

The latter have attracted a lot of criticism for the fact that they allow you to bet up to £100 at a time. Proposals were made to change this limit to £2 but the government's proposal passed by 322 to 231 votes.

Labor MP Tom Watson, who has supported proposals to review the gaming parameters of interconnected terminals (FOBTs) described the vote as a "missed opportunity".

Perhaps the biggest disappointment for anti-FOBT activists was that many of the Liberal Democrat MPs who expressed their support for the cause later voted against.
