The director of ADM, Robert Alesse (in the photo), told Italia Oggi about his activity and the details of the reorganization of the Agency. Regarding the gaming reform, Alesse explained: “For too long the concessions have been subject to continuous extension due to the impossibility of holding the competitions. The new concessions will need to be awarded through public tender procedures. It is necessary to announce tenders for the collection of gaming through entertainment machines, for betting, bingo, etc lotto. For all games on the physical network, however, it will be necessary to wait for the agreement with the local authorities, for which work will begin very soon. The issue of online gaming is different. The process has begun and is well underway. The first legislative decree on the matter has been approved by the Government. It is hoped that the notice can be published within the first quarter of the year. The tender does not provide a limit of concessions to be relaunched but establishes rigorous subjective and good repute requirements. There are currently 92 online dealers, the new tender would see the participation of around 50/60 operators, including foreign ones".

Speaking about illegal gaming and betting and the consequent loss of state revenue, the director of ADM added: “Illegal gaming has reduced over the last few years. The gaming market that is not controlled by the State is often quantified at 20 billion and of this approximately two thirds concern remote gaming. In this regard, the organizational reforms of the Agency, as well as the opportunities of fiscal delegation, will lead to a better knowledge of the territory on the part of our officials, who will have greater ability to combat illegal physical networks also thanks to the control activity carried out with the Police Forces. In remote gaming we will take advantage of new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, this month alone we have blocked 174 sites".
