This morning, in the context of the examination of the amendments to the Fiscal Delegation in the Senate Finance Commission, Senator Magni (Misto-AVS) intervened with reference to article 13, who, refusing to analytically illustrate the numerous amendments presented by his political party, invited the majority to carry out an overall analysis of the need to rebalance the relationship between the protection of the most vulnerable subjects with respect to compulsive gambling, the fight against illegal activities and the tax revenue deriving from the gaming sector. Senator Croatti (M5S), with the assent of the presenters Biancofiore and Salvitti (Cd'I-NM (UDC-CI-NcI-IaC)-MAIE), added his signature to amendment 13.26 which suppresses the tax on Entertainment starting from 1 January 2024. Senator Tajani (PD-IDP) then illustrated amendment 13.3, after which amendments 13.5 and 13.20 were illustrated by Senator TURCO (M5S).

In the afternoon session, following the contrary opinion of the Budget Commission, some amendments to the tax delegation were declared inadmissible, including the 13.25 signed by Turco and Croatti (M5S) which asked for "the allocation of tax revenue deriving from gaming with cash prizes directly to the regions and municipalities according to the origin of the profit to be used to finance prevention and assistance projects against gambling” and on 13.26 signed by Biancofiore and Salvitti (Cd'I-NM (UDC-CI-NcI-IaC)-MAIE) and then also signed by Senator Croatti (M5S) which requested the abolition of the Tax on Entertainment with effect from 1 January 2024.
