The Minister for Relations with Parliament, Luca Ciriani, with a letter dated 19 January 2024, sent to the President of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa - for the acquisition of the parliamentary opinion, pursuant to articles 1 and 15 of the law of 9 August 2023 , n. 111 – the draft legislative decree containing provisions regarding the reorganization of the gaming sector, starting from remote gaming (n. 116). Pursuant to the aforementioned provisions and article 139-bis of the Regulation, the draft decree has been referred to the 6th Permanent Commission and, for the financial consequences, to the 5th Permanent Commission, which will express their respective opinions within 30 days of the assignment.

The request for a parliamentary opinion on the draft legislative decree containing provisions on the reorganization of the gaming sector, starting from remote gaming, was also sent - with the same letter from the Minister - to the Chamber. The request has been assigned, pursuant to paragraph 4 of article 143 of the Regulation, to the VI Commission (Finance) and, for the financial consequences, to the V Commission (Budget), which will have to express the required opinions by 22 February 2024.

In the letter sent by Minister Ciriani to the two houses of Parliament we read the following: "I would like to point out, on behalf of the Government, the urgency of the examination of the provision by the competent Commissions even if it lacks the agreement sanctioned at the Joint Conference, which I intend to forward as soon as it is acquired. The urgent procedure is necessary due to the fact that after the entry into force of this decree and in full compliance with it, the Customs and Monopolies Agency is required to publish without delay the tender notice for the assignment of concessions for the collection of remote gaming, expiring on 31 December 2024, so as to ensure in any case their award by that date".
