“It is unacceptable that episodes like the one in Udine occur, where the AC Milan goalkeeper had to suffer racist chants and insults, shameful demonstrations that hurt not only Maignan, the team's goalkeeper, to whom our closeness and solidarity go, but all of us . Politics has taken a united stand against this episode, but it is not enough. We have the duty not to stop at condemnation and to act coherently against every form of discrimination and danger that affects our young people. However, this is evidently not the case when politics indulges certain itches, such as those of members of the government majority who share and wink at those who write fantastical books, a breeding ground for hatred and racism; it is not so, if the same Government indulges the unscrupulous wishes of football clubs who demand the abolition of the ban on advertising on sports betting, which causes a terrible pathology such as gambling disorder, which affects millions of Italians and many young people in our country.
