Lazio Region: objections raised on the economic coverage of the Tarzia bill

(Jamma) Work has just resumed at the Lazio Regional Council, the Tarzia bill containing 'Provisions for the Prevention and Treatment of Pathological Gambling' also appears on the agenda for today's session.

This morning's meeting, according to what has been learned, was suspended precisely because of the Tarzia bill, after some councilors raised objections to the economic coverage. The text was then sent to the Budget Commission which should have just finished its examination. At the moment the Board is busy examining the Waste Management Plan.

We recall that the bill presented by Olimpia Tarzia (Storace list) and arrived in the classroom today was unanimously approved by the Social Policies Commission of the Council in recent days. In particular, the bill regulates the location of gaming halls, preserving the so-called "sensitive areas" (schools, hospitals, places of worship, social centers and the elderly) and establishing rewards for establishments that remove or fail to install slot machines. The bill also sanctions the ban on advertising the opening or operation of gaming halls in the region. Furthermore, the managers of bingo halls, betting offices and horse racing agencies must display information material on the related risks and on the assistance services present in the area at the entrance to the premises and on the relative devices.
