Portugal, a government commission to open up the online gambling market

(Jamma) On October 3, after a meeting with the executive, the Portuguese government announced its intention to legalize the online gambling market with the aim of increasing tax revenues.

In the next three months, the government will create a new working group whose purpose is to discuss legislation in national and European terms. The study that will be developed by the group of experts will lay the foundations for implementing a system of rules that will allow the market to be opened up to online offers. The methods and measures that will be implemented in the process for the legalization of these activities have not yet been disclosed.
