This is the proposal of the President of the Province Massimo Trespidi, whom he met this morning in the halls of the building on Corso Garibaldi the parliamentarian Paola De Micheli and the regional councilor Stefano Cavalli to deliver them the 1500 signatures collected against gambling addiction. “The Municipalities of Castel San Giovanni and Fiorenzuola with their respective parishes and the ACLI family point in Piacenza – explained Trespidi – have promoted the initiative 'Let's put a limit on gambling' to make citizens aware of the risks of gambling. From this idea a coordination will be born, active starting from September, which will also involve local authorities, regional councilors and Piacenza parliamentarians in order to develop a culture of the risks associated with gambling addiction".

At the moment there are two major concerns: on the one hand, the out-of-control proliferation of authorizations and on the other, the spread of gambling addiction as a phenomenon unrelated to other addictions”. “At the beginning of July – Councilor Cavalli pointed out – a law promoting the fight against gambling addiction was tested by the Legislative Assembly of Emilia Romagna. However, the competence lies with the State, which we ask to set limits on the proliferation of authorizations and to increase taxation. The appeal has no political colors: the focus is on protecting the health of citizens”.
