(Jamma) The debate around the proposal made by the radicals to authorize the opening of casinos in Abruzzo to finance the reconstruction of L'Aquila. The senator of the PD Stephanie Pezzopane (PD) said she was perplexed about the proposal, recalling that previously, with other forms of games, the Berlusconi government had promised 1 billion and 400 million for the Abruzzo capital:

"Instead, there were just a few crumbs and therefore I fear another speculation against us - concluding that I do not agree with the Radicals' proposal - since it identifies a noble and engaging reason such as reconstruction to broaden the playing field".

Reply ready Alessio DiCarlo, of the secretariat of the Abruzzo Radicals, who commented on the declarations of the parliamentarian from L'Aquila as follows: «Pezzopane's words betray a prejudicially adverse approach to so-called games of chance, a typical ideological legacy of those who believe that the State should have protective functions towards the 'individual, evidently considered as someone incapable of looking after himself'.

"As regards the guarantee that the proceeds are effectively destined for L'Aquila - concluded the exponent of the radicals from Abruzzo - this would be a task that should be fulfilled first by politics and secondly by the judiciary, targeting any embezzlement".
