Denmark's Ministry of Taxation has communicated to the European Commission a draft law containing amendments to the Gambling Act to increase efforts against match fixing with modern rules and expanded powers for the Danish Gambling Authority. The bill is notified on November 3 and will remain under observation until February 6, 2024.

The fight against crime – reads the notification – is achieved by enabling the Danish Gambling Authority to collect and exchange information, as well as correlate gaming data between gambling providers in order to combat and prevent match fixing and money laundering.

The updated rules introduce a turnover limit for the revenue-limited authorization and a clarification of the calculation of sponsored rewards, so that the concessional form of the authorization is not used. Additionally, the fee for winning slot machines is being changed to allow license holders to replace slot machines on an ongoing basis.

Effective supervision of the gambling market is achieved by giving the Danish Gambling Authority the opportunity to issue injunctions, the publication of sanctions for violations of gambling legislation and the Danish Gambling Authority for gambling will be able to use gaming data to see players' gaming patterns across providers.
