Fact-finding hearing of Sistema Gioco Italia in the Lombardy Region: a good start
(Jamma) "Within two weeks, the Lombardy Regional Council will approve a bill to be submitted to the Council Chamber as regards gambling." This was confirmed today by the president of the Lombardy Region, Roberto Maroni. “We – he said – have already drawn up our own proposal, but, before presenting it, we are also awaiting the evaluations of the Council Commission which is working on it”.
“We do not hide the difficulties of intervention – he added -, also because the competence of regulating gambling lies with the national Parliament, but we are working on two fronts: the health one, as regards the pathologies deriving from this practice, and that of the territory, for example to establish the distances between one amusement arcade and another and the distance between the same arcades and places such as schools and churches”.
It will be theCouncilor for the Territory, Urban Planning and Soil Protection to coordinate the work of the Giunta on this issue.
