Horse racing. Ghedini (Pd): "When is the payment of the fees due to workers in the sector?"

(Jamma) What urgent initiatives does the Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies intend to adopt to ensure a rapid settlement of the payment of the dues due to horse racing, with priority reference to those of workers or operators compensated under the collaboration regime, like the judges of the competition? This is what Pd senator Rita Ghedini asked to know in a question presented yesterday in the Senate.

“Article 14, paragraph 28, of the decree-law of 6 July 2011, n. 98, converted, with amendments, by law 15 July 2011, n. 111, – explained Ghedini – established that the National Union for the Increment of Equine Breeds (UNIRE) would be transformed into an Agency for the development of the horse-racing sector (ASSI);

article 23-quater, paragraph 9, of the decree-law of 6 July 2012, n. 95, converted, with amendments, by law 7 August 2012, n. 135, in providing for the suppression of the ASSI, established that with decrees of a non-regulatory nature of the Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies (MIPAAF) in agreement with the Minister of Economy and Finance, they are divided between the MIPAAF and the Agency of customs and monopolies the functions attributed to ASSI by current legislation as well as the related human, financial and instrumental resources including the related active and passive legal relationships;

in the estimates of the MIPAAF for the year 2013 it was registered with the law n. 229 of 2012 (budget law for the three-year period 2013-2015) the sum of 250.021.263 euros, divided into 9.800.000 euros as regards chapter no. 1896 "Expenses for the remuneration of the personnel of the suppressed of the equestrian sector”; considering that - he concluded - as far as the questioner understands, in fact, the payments by the MIPAAF of the due amounts due to the players in the horse racing sector, including employees and para-subordinate collaborators, relating to the 2012-2013 premiums are no longer paid since August 2012”.
