“This is a very useful opportunity for discussion on a crucial topic. There is an international public debate on this issue, but Italy fails to enter into this discussion. To think that a country like ours does not address this debate seems absurd to me. In concrete practice, a behavioral approach can offer a solution perspective with which to obtain a better result at a lower cost. The theme of the game has many facets, but there are issues which, if isolated, could create an alliance between the various subjects. One is the single register of self-exclusions. If our objective is to address conditions in the bud that can then slip into gambling addiction, why not establish a nudge unit to study the topic of gambling? There will always be an illegal way to play, so why not help people play more consciously? If we embrace a behavioral approach we can create many opportunities to get closer to the objectives we have by involving people, without limiting their freedoms".

He said so Andrea Casu (in the photo), Deputy and Secretary of the Presidency Delegate of the PD-IDP Group in the Chamber, speaking in Rome at the LUMSA University at the presentation of the project – conducted by BVA Doxa and BVA Nudge Consulting – entitled “Kindly Responsibili – Behavioral sciences for conscious play”.
