The City Council of the city of Corsico has unanimously approved the new regulation, in 11 articles, regarding gaming offers. The rules:
identifies the procedures for opening slot rooms or installing machines
prohibits the opening of new gaming points (or takeover) less than 500 m from sensitive places (schools, churches, oratories, ...)
gives powers to the Mayor to limit operating hours
obliges owners to correctly inform about risks
identifies measures to encourage the disposal of machines
identifies sanctions and regulates controls.
prohibits advertising and the sale of municipal properties to gaming companies.
Prior to the approval of the regulation, the matter was governed by a provision of the urban planning regulation and by a 2017 union ordinance which set hourly limits on the operation of the slots.
Together with the Anti-Mafia Commission, the M5S Group has proposed a specific regulation. It adapts to the Lombardy regional law of 2016.
