Slot litigation. In the Chamber M5S presents a question on revenue from amnesty

(Jamma) The deputies of the 5 Star Movement presented a question in which they ask the Minister of Economy "what are the safeguard clauses currently envisaged by regulatory provisions, which imply increases in the rates of taxes and duties or in advances, activated or to be activated, and the overall assessment of the higher costs to be covered with the aforementioned clauses". The question refers to the Government's intention to issue the safeguard clause envisaged by the IMU decree in the event of failure to achieve the estimated revenues through the amnesty on slot penalties: in the absence of the 600 million euros envisaged, the decree provides for a two-point increase in IRES and IRAP advances for companies and, from 1 January 2014, an increase of about two percentage points in excise duties on fuel. “The decree-law n. 102 of 2013 – recall the deputies of the M5S – provides for the activation of the safeguard clause in the event that the higher revenue is not reached, foreseen for 600 million euros, deriving from the facilitated settlement towards the gaming concessionaires referred to in article 14 of the same decree-law n. 102, and the increased revenue, expected to be 925 million euros, connected to the VAT payments deriving from the acceleration of the payments of the credits of the companies due from the public administration established by article 13 of the same decree-law n. 102. Some press sources report a loss of revenue of approximately 300 million euros from the application of the aforementioned article 14 and that the Government is in the process of activating the aforementioned safeguard clause for 600 million euros”.
