In yesterday's session at the joint Constitutional Affairs and Budget Commissions of the Chamber, the rapporteur for the Budget Commission, Angelo Rossi (FdI), invited - also on behalf of the other rapporteurs - the withdrawal of amendment 3.26 first signed by Quartini (M5S) aimed at suppressing paragraph 7 of article 3 of the decree-law, with which - re-proposing a provision already introduced by legislative decree no. 61 of 2023 - the Government intends to allow the Customs and Monopolies Agency additional extractions of the Lotto and SuperEnalotto.

Subsequently Gianmauro Dell'Olio (M5S) intervened to illustrate the amendment and recalled that "in the previous decree the measure could be justified by the need to urgently find resources to be allocated to the areas affected by the earthquake", underlining "how instead in this case only reference is made to a general national emergency". While understanding "the State's need to find resources", the deputy therefore stigmatized these measures, recalling "the serious social phenomenon of gambling addiction which can only be fueled by this type of intervention".

Le Commissions then rejected the Quartini 3.26 amendment.
