“In the Bicameral Commission of inquiry into illicit activities connected to the waste cycle and related environmental offenses I proposed, and received approval, a monitoring of the delicate topic of the mistreatment of horses and their criminal use for betting and clandestine races. This is a very sensitive topic and, today (Tuesday 16 January, ed.), we understand even more why. In fact, I would like to congratulate the Catania Police who discovered an illegal stable in the San Cristoforo district, in collaboration with the patrols of the "Eastern Sicily" Crime Prevention Department, the Horse Squad, the Dog Squad and the Scientific Police. , with 4 horses, in terrible sanitary conditions and without microchips. I reiterate my support and my closeness to the police forces, the investigative bodies, the ASP of Catania and the Mayor of Catania, Enrico Trantino, whom I respect and appreciate, to continue, together, this important battle of legality and civility" .
