“Minister Abodi must say clearly whether his plans include satisfying the millionaire football clubs who would like to return to using advertising from gambling companies. If this were the case, he would find a wall from the M5S: gambling addiction is a social plague with devastating consequences and its fight against it cannot see any type of step backwards, especially in the world of sport and football in particular, and only in last month was hit by yet another "scommettopoli" scandal with footballers betting on matches. We cannot think that the State is complicit in a system that feeds itself on the skin of enthusiasts exposed to the increasingly serious risk of falling into gambling addiction. As for statements of Abodi who said he was in favor of assigning a percentage on the collection of bets, this is a debate that must take place in Parliament, so we are certain that Abodi will not fail to come and report to the commission on the exact intentions of the government in this matter and in general on the reorganization of the sector which he spoke about in the newspapers. One thing must be clear right away: the interests of citizens and communities come before those of football clubs and their multi-millionaire presidents." Thus in a note the M5S deputy, Cajetan Amato (in the picture).
