Baretta (Sott. Economics): "Amendment to reduce the payment of fines to concessionaires in line with the Government's gaming policy"

(Jamma) “It is necessary to clarify the commitments that the Government has undertaken in the field of pathological gambling. The state is considering reducing its exposure to gambling activities. Today, however, we are discussing the resources that have been put in place and on which there has been much discussion. The Court of Auditors itself pointed out that there was a balance point which is closer to the percentage we have hypothesized today. Today there is accession by the concessionary companies, as the Court of Auditors itself had made us understand, until yesterday they did not pay, today they are starting to do so. These are the reasons why we have reworded the amendment, it is the definition of a figure which is the most realistic. I understand the observations made, but it must be understood that there is an emergency that we must cover, the government does not deviate, despite this, from the line undertaken in terms of management and control of gaming activities". This is what Undersecretary for the Economy Baretta said in reference to the amendment which reduces the amount of the sanctions contested against slot network concessionaires to 20%.
