“It is necessary to intervene, the reorganization can no longer be postponed. It is important that you do not make mistakes. Physical play, as the police also say, is a safeguard of legality. There are some points that need to be clarified: the attention that must be given to online gaming cannot overshadow that for the physical network, which is slowly deteriorating. There cannot be reorganization policies made by sectors. Does the Government want to dedicate itself to online first? For us it is a mistake. Physical and online gaming must be equally present at the shuffle table. Federalism? We must acknowledge that everything that has been produced from 2011 onwards has not worked. We must forget about the distance meter, it is a non-solution. We must start with a clarification on this point. The ghettoization of physical play is a very dangerous phenomenon and cannot work. Ghettoization is not a reformist demand, while we must move towards reform. The State is lacking in the field of social and healthcare provision, there is more than one thing wrong here. So you have to work. Those who work in the sector and are in contact with players must be able to carry out a prevention function. Who can intercept problem gamblers other than those who see them every day? The network of operators is the only barrier to problematic and pathological gambling. We need to talk about online and physical at the same time. Research needs to be done. There is an area, which is that of illegality, in which numbers are given at random. An analysis must be done that looks at the opponent's home. It's the only way to create countermeasures. Gaming must be a social, regulated, fair and legal sector."

He said so Alberto Baldazzi (in the photo), coordinator of the Eurispes working table, speaking at the round table promoted by the Eurispes Permanent Observatory on Games, Legality and Pathologies on the theme "The reorganization of public gaming and the role of territorial offer in Italy", in course in Rome at the “Sala delle Bandiere” gc of the European Parliament in Italy.
