The first meeting of the technical table between Mef and the Unified Conference of the Regions on the topic of the reorganization of the land-based game is scheduled for February 23rd.

There are many points on the agenda, first of all the hypothesis of introducing a mechanism for local authorities to share revenue from gaming.

According to the national press, in fact, only a few days ago the MEF deputy head of Cabinet, Italo Volpe, sent a letter to the President of the Regions Massimiliano Fedriga to start a discussion on the hypothesis, put forward by the Regions during the hearing in Parliament.

The hypothesis, currently only sketched out, requires a series of clarifications on the methods of introducing the mechanism, starting from the definition of the recipients of the share of revenue from gaming taxes and the offer concerned.

As repeatedly requested by operators in the sector, the Technical Table will have to address other thorny issues such as the distance meters introduced by local regulations, the hourly limitations on the operation of slots and the subjects who will be able to access funds allocated, mandatorily, to the prevention and treatment of pathological gamblers .

According to initial estimates, the sum to be allocated to local authorities would reach at least 300 million euros, which would be added to the 50 million already allocated annually.
