The Ministry of Consumption, in agreement with the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration, will amend the Game Regulation Law to limit the expenditure that users can allocate to gambling activities to a maximum of 600 euros per day or 1.500 euros per week. To date, according to reports from the national press, the 2011 regulation sets limits on players' deposits, but for each individual operator. Now, according to the Royal Decree project, these limits will be taken into account for all traders with the user has an open account.

"This measure will lead to an increase in the level of player protection and a strengthening of the tools made available to users for managing their spending", explains the Ministry in the Regulatory Impact Analysis Report (MAIN) of the standard. It is also added that these limits are intended to prevent the emergence of addictive behaviour.

However, according to the text, users will be able to change or even remove the economic limits for all their deposits if they request it, which will take effect within a period of seven days from the request.
