(Jamma) “We are satisfied with the work carried out on tax delegation within the restricted committee of the finance commission and in particular on article 14 concerning games. Thanks to the amendments presented by the Democratic Party – declared Federico Ginato, deputy of the Democratic Party – qualifying points have been included such as the establishment of a national fund for the prevention and treatment of gambling addiction, the concept of co-planning between the state and the mayors in the opening of new gaming halls and in the installation of new gaming machines in commercial establishments, the reorganization and rationalization of the gaming collection network aimed at its progressive concentration, the strengthening of measures aimed at contrasting the fight against mafia infiltration and money laundering with the adoption of very harsh sanctions for those who do not comply with the transparency obligations in the share capital or assets of public gaming concessionaires. Finally, more stringent monitoring has been introduced in the field of advertising with a commitment to increase its limits. It is an important step towards an approach that certainly aims to remove gaming from the sphere of illegality but also not to encourage its diffusion. Once approved in Parliament, the government will have the possibility of reorganizing the entire sector on the basis of these criteria which clearly indicate the way forward”.
