While discussions continue between the Government and regional and local authorities aimed at a definitive solution to the well-known Territorial Issue regarding gaming outlets (legislative decree implementing the parliamentary delegation referred to in Law 111/2023), the gaming sector associations in concession they applaud the statements released by the director general of the Customs and Monopolies Agency, Robert Alesse.

“The fact that director Alesse considers the reform process of the physical game a priority gives us hope. Just as we are happy to see the requests that we have been representing for months accepted. Recognizing the importance of uniform legislation, as suggested by the Council of State, is the only way to start defining valid rules.

We are confident that on the issue of territorial reorganization, and on the expulsion bans currently in place, we will arrive at a definitive balanced, sustainable, homogeneous and non-discriminatory solution with respect to all distribution verticals, including the thousands of SMEs managing the devices, and to all types of public gaming. All this in order to avoid further harmful shifts in the demand for gaming between public games, which risk leading to losses of tax revenue, incoherent and ineffective protection of the user and also the putting at risk of the over 150 thousand workers represented by the supply chains physical gaming sector”, write the sector associations ACADI, ACMI, ASTRO, EGP FIPE and SAPAR in a joint statement.

"We believe it is of general interest to continue the open technical table, of which we are part, in order to continue the dialogue and discussion with the Agency, convinced that they can make useful contributions to the better analysis of legislative alternatives and their possible impacts on the objectives indicated by the parliamentary delegation, as anticipated on several occasions", conclude the Associations of the public gaming sector in the note sent to the Director General of the Agency Customs and Monopolies, Robert Alesse, to the Games Director, Mario Lollobrigida, and to the Deputy Minister of the MEF, Maurice Leo.
