The PD-IDP deputy, Stefano Vaccari (in the photo), presented to the Chamber a question to be answered in the Commission, addressed to the Minister of Economy and Finance, in which he asked to know "whether the news of the assigned extension to 31 December 2024 of the concession in topic to the Global Starnet company; what were the formalized criteria and reasons for said possible extension, given the aforementioned ordinance, which obliged the administration in the opposite direction (the forfeiture of the concession) and given the reasons indicated for the declared forfeiture, consisting of a huge debt with the 'treasury; what were the criteria and reasons for the transaction and its quantification; why the extension provision would have been "reserved", without prejudice - it must be remembered - that, pursuant to article 5, paragraph 2, of legislative decree no. 33 of 2013, it is always possible to access documents held by public administrations in addition to those subject to publication, in compliance with the limits established by the aforementioned legislative decree".
“According to what was reported in an article published in the newspaper Domani on 12 February 2024 – explains Vaccari in the question – the concession for the creation and management of the network for the electronic management of legal gaming was extended to 31 December 2024 by the Global Starnet company using entertainment devices referred to in article 110, paragraph 6, of the Consolidated Law on public security laws; the aforementioned article highlighted that the extension would come into force following an order from the regional administrative court for Lazio, dated 8 November 2023, which - also confirming a previous order from the same regional administrative court - set the expiry of the aforementioned concession on 31 December 2023, as the company concerned - we read - "lost all appeals".
