The Veneto Regional Council will vote, on November 14th, on a motion signed by the councilors Baldin, Camani, Bigon, Luisetto, Montanariello, Zanoni, Zottis, Guarda, Lorenzoni and Ostanel, with which it intends to commit the administration to a series of actions regarding the prevention of addictions. In this case, reference is also made to the phenomenon of pathological gambling.
These actions serve to relaunch prevention and early management activities in public services and private social services, also through an increase in funds; recognize or support the educational role of schools of all levels in the prevention and identification of subjects at risk; strengthening and updating the function of the Information and Consultancy Centres; make use of the information potential of the mass media with regard to prevention and information on the risks related to the use and abuse of alcohol, psychoactive substances, gambling addiction; innovate the system of Ser.D and therapeutic communities; provide for global care of the person through multidisciplinary paths; updating staffing standards; integration between rehabilitation programs and the welfare system.
