Cristian-Gabriel Pascu, owner of well-known beauty salons and former hairdresser, has been appointed by the Romanian Ministry of Finance to head the National Gambling Office.
Cristian-Gabriel Pascu has no connection to the gambling industry, and he acknowledges it.
In his CV he states that he obtained a diploma in hairdressing and that he completed a law degree at the University of Hyperion at the age of 32.
He was a local councilor for the Liberal Party at the Sector 6 Municipality and a member of the Board of Directors of the Sector 6 Innovation and Urban Design Center in the capital.
He worked mainly as a hairdresser and as an administrator of some beauty salons.
He was also a presenter on Euforia TV, a television channel focusing on entertainment shows.
“I can't say I have specific experience in the field of gambling. My relevant experience is as an entrepreneur; I have had many companies in various fields. I obtained a law degree, I had various business experiences. In general, in everything I do, I try to do it in the best way possible,” Pascu said.
When asked if he knew the legislation under which the National Screaming Game Office was established, Pascu didn't know: “If you ask me to know the specific legislation, I can't really help you; it is a relatively new field. My appointment is recent, I was entrusted with a task. Let me come in and I will be available with all the details on sector legislation."
