Sweden. Compulsory player card for Svenska Spel customers

(Jamma) From summer 2014, customers of Svenska Spel, the public operator controlled by the Swedish government, will need to have a player card to access the gaming offer, with the exception of lottery tickets and land-based casinos Cosmopol . Lennart Käll, CEO of Svenska Spel, ha commented that the introduction of the card is “a very important part of our commitment to responsible gaming. The card provides our customers with a wide range of services, as well as placing limits on the time and amounts played. It also allows us to be more active in customer relations and to dialogue with those who may have problems related to gambling behaviour”. At the moment the card is already mandatory for those who play Svenska Spel online and from mobile phones, and it is optional for gaming machines.
