(Jamma) The luxury hotel that Versace will build in Macau will have 2.000 rooms in a casino-resort set up with 700 gambling tables. The Italian fashion house and the casino company of the Chinese special administrative region, SJM Holdings, issued a joint statement explaining that they have signed an agreement which will bring the 5-star Palazzo Versace hotel within a structure that SJM is building in the former Portuguese colony. The Macao group, founded by billionaire Stanley Ho, had received authorization in May to start a construction site on the Cotai strip, considered the Asian version of Las Vegas. Versace and SJM did not provide details on the costs of the operation or a date for completion of the works.
