Throughout Italy, over 9.300 companies specialize in betting and coin-operated gaming; activities related to "machines" almost doubled in one year

(Jamma) Almost 9.300 Italian companies in 2013, between offices and local units, are specialized in the betting and gaming sector. They grew by 32,1% in one year, with the management of machines that allow cash winnings increasing from 705 to 1.348 in one year (+91,2%). And with the almost doubling of betting shops, they reach 4.344 businesses i places used for the game of Lotto, superenalotto and Totocalcio. Among the most significant growths of the sector in general Emilia Romagna with +80% and Marche (+45,5%). These data emerge from an elaboration by the Milan Chamber of Commerce on data from the business register for the first quarter of 2012 and 2013, relating to company headquarters and active locations specialized in gaming (exclusive or main activity).

 

Lombardy leads the national ranking with 1.342 activities dedicated to gaming, 14,5% of the Italian total, +43,4% in one year. Followed by Campania (1.278, 13,8%) and Lazio (1.046, 11,3%). Among the provinces first is Rome with 798 businesses (8,6% nationally), followed by Naples (793, 8,5%), Milan (521, 5,6%) and Bari (321, 3,5%). Turin is fifth.
