The AGA, an association that brings together US gaming operators, yesterday published its Commercial Gaming Revenue Tracker for the full year 2023.

In 2023, commercial gaming revenue rose to an all-time high of $66,5 billion, marking the third consecutive year of record-breaking success.

During the presentation, President and CEO Bill Miller, along with senior AGA staff, delved into data insights and outlined the path forward for the gaming industry in 2024.

The highlights:

Record Revenue: The commercial gaming industry reached a new revenue peak in 2023, with total revenue from land-based casino gaming, sports betting and iGaming reaching $66,52 billion, an increase of 10,0, 2022% compared to the previous record set in XNUMX.

Physical play vs. Online Gaming: While online gaming continues to expand, physical gaming remains critical to the industry. Land-based commercial gambling, which includes casino slots, table games and retail sports betting, accounted for 75,3% ($50,02 billion) of total revenue, while online gaming accounted for raised 24,7% (16,43 billion dollars).

Despite the lack of new launches in the market, US iGaming has seen significant growth, surpassing $6 billion in revenue for the first time. Michigan has emerged as the top iGaming market, narrowly surpassing New Jersey, with Pennsylvania rounding out the top three. Each of the six iGaming markets reported record revenue in 2023, with growth ranging from 3,3% to a staggering 44,7% over the previous year. The year ended on a high note for the iGaming vertical, setting a new quarterly revenue record of $1,68 billion, an impressive 20,6% increase from the final quarter of 2022.

The AGA report highlights the resilience and dynamism of the gaming industry, even in the face of challenges such as the global pandemic. Looking ahead to 2024, the potential for further growth is clear.
