France. In the last year, casino revenues mark -4,25%

(Jamma) In a joint statement released this morning, France's 197 casinos announced a 4,25% contraction in gaming revenue to €2,178 billion in their most recent financial year (November 1, 2012 – October 30, 2013).

In a joint statement, the three gaming house unions (Casinos de France, Syndicat des casinos modernis de France, Association des casinos indépendants français) point out that the results recorded this year, if added to those of the last 5 years, show a reduction in the 22,5%.

The 2011-2012 financial year ended with a reduction in revenues of 1,8% settling at 2,275 billion euros, after the modest improvement (+0,95%) of the 2010-2011 financial year.

In their press release, the casino operators have repeatedly called the attention of the Ministries (Interior, Economy) so that they realize the drop in the results obtained and in this regard ask for greater entrepreneurial freedom of action to face some of the competing games (French games, PMUs and online games) benefiting from continued government attention”.

Operators “feel that they have been partially listened to on the adoption of their gaming offer” , following the recent approval of new games and new schedules. The provided casinos recall their requests, such as the creation of an authority common to all gaming operators “for a balanced gaming policy ” or the adaptation ” of the tax system to allow investment to resume . ”
