The 90-minute roundtable, one of the most requested seminars taking place at the EAG, brings together equipment manufacturers, operators, data analysts and pub retailers to discuss key issues facing the industry, including technological advances, age verification, new payment methods and the contributions pools and music make to the pub entertainment experience.

The CEO of Bacta, John White, who curated the seminar programme, believes the line-up of distinguished speakers highlights the importance of pay-to-play leisure equipment in the pub sector and, by extension, its value to the business model of pubs. She said: "First of all I would like to thank our hosts who have been extremely helpful and generous in their support of the seminar program at EAG.

The Pub and Club Summit is probably the best opportunity of the year to explore the challenges and opportunities facing the industry and the speakers will provide a comprehensive analysis of the issues not only from a gaming perspective, but also from a snooker and music perspective .

The space occupied by an AWP has famously been described as the most profitable area of the pub interior and Simon Barff of CLMS is one of the most qualified members of the industry to provide an update on the market and give context to the contributions made by AWPs I play for profits.

Continuing the theme of gaming, Reflex's Quentin Stott will explore how advances in technology can improve the gaming experience, aid in the identification of underage players and help licensees remain compliant, with Pauline Bass looking ahead to the use of debit cards on gaming machines and what it will mean for retailers, operators and game makers".

He added: "When analyzing our industry's relationship with the pub industry, the conversation wouldn't be complete without reference to snooker and music. I am delighted to confirm the participation of Nick Rudd, who will demonstrate how a strong pool offering can attract and retain customers, and Chris Black, who will draw on decades of experience to explain the relationship between pubs and music and how jukeboxes improve the entertainment experience.

EAG is a fantastic way to start the trading year, offering a compelling combination of accessible knowledge provided by experts and the best range of revolutionary entertainment and low-risk gaming machines".
