Data on in-person gaming and online gaming activity in the 3rd quarter of 2023 in Portugal has been published. Reports on gambling activity are prepared and disseminated by the Gambling Regulation and Inspection Service (SRIJ).

In the data analysis, the increase in registrations of new players and self-excluded players of 7,8% and 8,3% respectively compared to the previous quarter is evident. As regards the gross revenues generated by online gaming and betting activities, there was an increase of 36,0% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Territorial base game highlights

In the analysis of the data referring to local gaming (casinos, machine rooms and bingo), the 7,8% increase in gross revenues is notable, compared to the same period of the previous year. Also noteworthy is the Espinho Casino, which, in the third quarter of 2023, permanently closed its bingo hall.
