The provision with the indications for the tendering of the gaming concession is about to arrive Lotto. A tender that should bring an amount exceeding one billion euros into the state coffers divided into two tranches. The green light will arrive shortly, probably in the next few weeks, also due to a question of technical timing. The current concession, in the hands of a consortium led by IGT (the former Lottomatica), will expire in November 2025.

According to what the newspaper writes The newspaper “the government's will is not to grant an extension, with the senator of the Brothers of Italy, Guido Liris, who has proposed to integrate the delegated decree for the reorganization of the remote gaming system now under the attention of the Budget and Finance Commissions of the House and Senate (the Commissions must express an opinion on the text by 22 February) with the indications for the tender on Lotto. It is unlikely, however, that this will actually be the vehicle decree with the provisions aimed at calling the tender, but regardless of which vehicle is chosen by the government, the green light will probably have to arrive by the end of February. To deal with all the various phases, including the 6-month to year timeline for the handover, it could take at least a year and a half."

With the assignment, the Mef could count on collecting a first tranche of half a billion already this year, with the rest to be collected in 2025. A figure to which between 100 and 120 million should be added for each year of concession with the possible reduction of the fee for the management of Lotto.
