Sweden. Green light from Brussels to the new provisions for online lotteries

(Jamma) Green light from Brussels to the new provisions for online lotteries notified by the Swedish government on March 22 to minimize the risk of addiction and excessive gambling.

The new requirements, we recall, will help minimize the risk that gambling and lotteries cause social harm.

Specifically, the proposed provisions include requirements for the presentation of the impact assessment of gambling in such a way that the lottery organizer pays due attention and consideration from the initial stage to the activity it intends to carry out, in order to be able to independently minimize any social damage deriving from this activity.
