Tuci (Impr. Ippici): "Serious non-fulfilments on prize money and Trotto 2013 programming"

(Jamma) "It is our duty to denounce that in the programming of the 2013 Harness Races the provisions of the State Budget for the Equestrian sector and the Decree commonly known as 'rubbishness' are not respected". This is what Enrico Tuci of the Italian Horse Entrepreneurs said.

“At Trotto in the first 9 months of the year only 35,4 million Euros were distributed instead of the 46 foreseen in the 2013 budget. Where are the 10,6 million that are missing?

We recall that the budget provides for a prize pool of 115 million which, reduced by the questionable decree imposed on the sector, becomes 102 million. Of these, 60% or 61,2 million is due to the trot, well, as of 30 September, only 35,4 have been allocated, so the projection indicates that only 47,2 will be allocated.

Why is there a further cut of the prize pool of 14 million, or 23%? Furthermore, the parameters envisaged by the regulation are not followed in the context of programming. In fact, in races reserved for 2-year-olds an allocation is envisaged which, to date, is absolutely not respected and which further damages the market for the sale of foals.

The non-use of resources provided for by the budget, added to the inability to proceed with payments and to manage all the technical/sporting aspects, is leading to the closure of our companies and the death of the sector in the total indifference of the Ministry that this sector, alas, should protect and manage.

Unfortunately, to defend their existence and their employees, the most important companies in the sector are resorting to legal proceedings.

Best regards – concludes Tuci – in the hope that, finally, someone will deign to give answers to those who, for now, work and invest in this country”.
