Wednesday trotting meeting atSnai La Maura Racecourse in which theBreeding of No and some of its most famous products, remembered in racing names. To close the afternoon there was a spectacular handicap invitation for 4-year-old horses, with eighteen subjects at the start divided on two ribbons, valid as TQQ. On paper, a real "puzzle" which however, at least as far as victory was concerned, had an almost... scholastic solution. Thanks to Andrea Guzzinati, who at his Dauphin Joyeuse (which in any case was one of the most anticipated subjects) designed a practically perfect route: a great start from the second belt to immediately settle in fifth position, then a move to the outside to "flush out" Dolly Effe and exploit her slipstream, then a relentless sprint in a straight line to stand out clearly at an average of 1.14.6 over 1670 metres: let's not bother Mantegna, but the reference to Giotto's O fits perfectly. Following Diablo Roc's error (the most awaited among those in the front row at the start), D'Antoine tried to run with the head but gave up on the last corner under the pressure of Pezzatini's mare (excellent); Desiderato Fb finished in third place on Donald Spav, with Delta Wise As closing a Quinte' combination without winners.
In the same program, but at the beginning of the day, there is also the amateur trot race without a whip valid as “Christmas Stars” Award – CGM Elettromeccanica Trophy“, organized with the collaboration of The Stars' Charity Horse Racing Circuit in which a group of people known to the public, passionate and in love with horses, get involved by replacing the professional drivers with ten drivers (nine plus a reserve) who tax themselves in favor of a cause, a non-profit organization or a solidarity project; in this case, the sum raised will be donated to the emergency not yet resolved in the Marche region after the terrible earthquake of 2016. The race did not disappoint expectations, the favorite Vulcan Rhodes: confidently led by the singer and horse manager Paolo Chiari; Michela Racca's horse performed a confident lead with an average of 1.15.6, withstanding the pressure of Aesir Selva and then controlling the final ambush of the waiter Biscuit del Nord, with the tired Aesir in third place.
Returning to the other tests of the Milanese afternoon, here is the Award commemorating Estasi Di No which featured 2-year-old horses chasing their first victory with Fenicia As coming out on top: Mauro Baroncini's mare with Marco Stefani managed to get the better of the pacesetter Frisia in the final, who took a clear advantage in the straight line but went into crisis in the final 50 suffering the ambush of the peer, prevailing at an average of 1.15.3. Third place for Finland Tor.
After three consecutive victories, Elegante Gso saw its streak interrupted in the Volavia Award of No: already uncertain in his stride, the Maharajah's son confirmed that he was having a bad day by bursting out angrily at a gallop at the take-off and his race ended before it even began. Elonmusk Jet was quick to take advantage of this, with the Mauro Baroncini-Marco Stefano connection immediately encore: the son of Wishing Stone showed off great condition by performing a vigorous lead run (600 in 42.5, km in 1.12.7) holding well all the way to fend off the lurking Elalunadisse Bigi, with Enos Col in third place. Enjoy Bi attempted a difficult external climb but the leg-cutting pace of the winner put him in difficulty.
An encore was also signed by Vincenzo Piscuoglio dell'Annunziata, with high-altitude horses trained by Fausto Barelli. In the Cobalt Award of No, Fortedeimarmi Dr committed himself off the labile pace of Fede Italia, passed in a straight line and controlled the final attacks of the stationed Fearless Font and the one in the center of the track by Freisa Roc which could only end in the squares behind the standard bearer of the Rinoceronte team, winner in average of 1.16.3: the debutant French Connection took advantage of the winner's slipstream but was unable to join the fight straight away.
The doubling for the driver from Campania arrived in Dalia Di No. Award, the test for 3-year-old females only, thanks to Extra Wind: the bearer of Felice Tiene overtook Ekarin Baba after a struggle, completed the km in 1.13.5 and in a straight line saved herself from the ambush of her rival, at a new personal best of 1.13. Further back, Estelle Matto finished in third place, while the most anticipated Electra Winner and Elegance Bi "argued" from the initial stages and ended up hindering each other.
Ultra-tactical victory for Don Toni Jet and Matteo Zaccherini in Demon Award of No, to claim it on the 1650 meters for 4-year-old horses: the Emilian gentleman returned to his rivals at the start, made melina and in the final he escaped Dafne Roc's finish: he risked a patatrac in the straight line because, in an attempt to find an opening, the Lurking Docena ended up with the front in the winner's wheel: Fabio Marchino miraculously remained in sulky, while Vittorio Bosia ended up on the ground with Diana di Pippo fortunately without consequences.
The next meetings this month atSnai La Maura Racecourse of Milan are scheduled for Sunday 24 and the last one in 2023 for Friday 29.
